SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present the Student Honors Recital, featuring some of the best student performers at Crane, on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater. This event is free, and the public is invited to attend. The concert will feature seven students selected by professors to represent their respective performance areas.

The following area residents have been named to the Fall 2013 President's List at Champlain College, a private baccalaureate institution, located in Burlington, Vt.. SUNY Potsdam has announced the student cast and crew for the Tony-winning musical "Ragtime," showing at the College from Nov. 14 to 17. A collaboration between faculty, staff and students from both The Crane School of Music and the Department of Theatre and Dance, the show features the award-winning Crane Opera Ensemble and Orchestra. St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, welcomes the following students as members of the class of 2017. Each first-year student participates in St. Lawrence University's innovative First-Year Program - one of the oldest living-learning programs in the country - helping students make successful transitions from high school to college. Students live together and are taught by faculty teams, developing the writing, speaking, and research skills needed for college. Students continue to develop these skills in a spring First-Year Seminar.

The cast and crew for the upcoming production of Martin Sherman's play "Bent," presented by the SUNY Potsdam Department of Theatre and Dance, has been announced. The all-student cast and crew is being advised by experienced faculty, and will present an untold story of the Nazi persecution of homosexuals during World War II. "Bent" will run from Oct. 24 to Oct. 27 in the Black Box Theater, located in the College's Satterlee Hall.

The State University of New York at Potsdam has awarded scholarships, grants and awards to 1,047 students for the 2013-14 academic year. These accomplished SUNY Potsdam undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their achievements with support for their educational experience.
